Project proposal regarding Development and Empowerment of
Adolescents
Rajyoga
Education And Research Foundation being a sister concern
of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa
Vidyalaya (also known as ‘Brahma Kumaris’) is a society
registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860
having its registered office at Pandav Bhawan, 25, Guru
Gobind Singh Marg, (New Rohtak Road), Karol Bagh, New
Delhi-110005 with its registration no. 12801 dated
11-08-1982. We, Brahma Kumaris are an international
socio-spiritual institute. It is established by
incorporeal God Father Shiva through His corporeal medium
Prajapita Brahma in 1937 at Sindh-Hyderabad. After 14
years of intense tapasya this institute moved to Mount
Abu, Rajasthan that is its present international head
quarters. It renders it humatarian services through its
8000+ branches in India and more than 129 countries.
People from all walks of life take benefits of its
services without discrimination of cast, colour, creed,
country, gender etc. It provides theses services FREE OF
CHARGE.
It is closely associate with UN
since decades. It is affiliated to the Department of
Public Information (DPI) of the United Nations as a NGO.
It holds General Consultative Status in the Economic and
Social Council (ECOSOC) and UNICEF. It has an agreement
with the UN University for Peace in Costa Rica. It
received 6 Peace Messenger Awards for its work in
promoting peace during the International Year of Peace,
1987.
The institute has been recognised as
a University by an Act of Parliament of Republic of
Mauritius. The Commonwealth of Russia has granted official
recognisation to this Spiritual Vishwa Vidyalaya in their
country.
The institute is exempted under section 10(23C)(v) of the
Income Tax Act, 1961 as a religious and charitable
institute.
Aims & Objects
The aims and objects for which the
Foundation is established are as under:
i)
To open and establish at different places centre/s
of Rajyoga which has been defined in Rules and Regulations
of the Foundation;
ii)
To impart and to propagate the principles of
Rajyoga Education so that human being can develop a link
with the Supreme Father and can enjoy inner peace;
iii)
To propagate and encourage the study and practice
of the principles of truth, non-violence, spiritual love
and divine virtues;
iv)
To educate man to foster soul-consciousness and the
spirit of universal brotherhood;
v)
To educate man so as to remove superstition, blind
faith and ignorance;
vi)
To spread and promote literacy amongst masses;
vii)
To undertake programmes of scientific research in
Rajyoga.

Youth Wing of Rajyoga Education And Research Foundation
Out of 17 different wings working
under Rajyoga Education And Research Foundation, the wing
of development and empowerment of youth (includes
adolescents) is one of the important areas under
function, which has been doing various promotional
activities and programs in all most all states of the
country. The progress and achievements of these activities
since 1985 in slums, villages, schools, colleges, and
youth organizations is enclosed herewith.

Aims & Objects of Youth Wing
To conduct programmes that enhances youth’s good
judgment, concentration and self-confidence.
To encourage youth’s efforts for achieving a high
level of purity of thoughts, words and deeds.
To encourage voluntary discipline in achieving a
life style characterized by simplicity, self-reliance and
divine qualities.
To facilitate the attitude of brotherhood,
spiritual love, tolerance and non-violence for personality
development and character building
To systematically impart education in moral and
spiritual values and Rajyoga Meditation to prepare the
youth for leading a balanced and contented life.
To facilitate youth’s freedom and protect them from
drugs, alcohol, smoking and violent and destructive
tendencies.
To promote youth’s spirit of service and sacrifice
by engaging them in community welfare activities.

:: Touch the Light Project ::
Introduction:
Adolescence being a phase of life
characterized by rapid physical growth and development,
physical and psychological changes, development of adult
mental process and a transition from socio-economic
dependence towards relative independence need special care
and convergence. This group of society has their special
needs and problem, which needs regular and constant
stimulus. The organization proposes mass awareness
campaigning for the children under the age group of 11 to
16 especially studying in class 7th to 9th
of the schools of various categories under this project of
‘Touch the Light’.
Details of Project:
The
project under proposal shall be initiated during the year
2007-08 in all most all states of the country for the
children who are presently in class 7, 8 and 9.
Under this scheme upto the year 2009-10 about 6000
schools shall be benefited through mass campaigning and
personal contact programms for which around 6000 faculty
members shall have to be trained for activating the
adolescents groups under scheme. It will cover around
16,50,000 students all over the country. The faculty
members shall under go a 5 days intensive training under
the experienced master trainers. The following criteria
has been fixed for the master trainers and faculty
members:
For Master Trainers:
1) Associated with Brahma Kumaris
for more than 10 years 2)
Age: 35 to 60 Years
3) Education: Graduate+
4) Ready to go to conduct trainings
For Faculty Members:
1) Associated with Brahma Kumaris
for more than 5 years
2) Age: 22 to 60 Years
3) Education: 12+
4) Can spare time for school service
The faculty members shall be
responsible for taking 32 sessions, once in a week, round
the year for the students of class 7th in
2007-08 and for the students of class 7th to 9th
in the following years under project.
